Christmas Mountain Village is proud to have achieved the requirements and been designated a Travel Green business by the State of Wisconsin Department of Tourism's Travel Wisconsin.
Travel Green organizations commit to sustainability in the following areas: education, community, energy efficiency, transportation, waste reduction and water conservation.

CHRISTMAS MOUNTAIN TRAVEL GREEN CRITERIA AND INITIATIVES
Christmas Mountain Village (CMV) Employees enjoy the benefit of frequent education about how to support our sustainability goals at regular staff meetings, through written communication, organized trainings, posted signage or other means.
Community Based Initiatives
CMV proactively supports local conservation organizations or initiatives through donations of time, money, items or services and participates in other community-wide sustainability efforts.
Energy Efficiencies
CMV uses LED lighting; motion-activated lights and/or programmable thermostats; schedules preventative maintenance for our heating and cooling systems; chooses energy-efficient equipment at replacement, which includes ENERGY STAR appliances.
Waste Prevention
CMV clearly labels recycling containers next to each trash can; has clear waste reduction measures in place; uses eco-friendly disposables; takes steps to avoid single-use plastics; uses ecological and biodegradable detergents and cleansers; donates unopened, uneaten foods.
Water Conservation
CMV uses an ENERGY STAR certified water heater and uses water flow reducers, ENERGY STAR certified water heaters as well as water flow reducers.
